Privacy policy

Your sessions stay on your Mac.

This policy explains how Ousia handles information in the desktop app and on this website. Effective August 17, 2026.

Ousia has no user accounts, no advertising, and no Ousia backend for your conversations. We do not sell personal information.

Information handled by the app

Ousia stores its project and session index, sidebar layout, window position, and appearance preferences as local files inside its own application-data folder, and writes debug logs under ~/.ousia/logs. Pi remains the source of truth for its providers, credentials, models, resources, and session history in ~/.pi/agent. Nothing about your conversations is uploaded to an Ousia server.

Model providers

Messages you send in a session are delivered to the model providers you configure, under your own API keys, so the agent can complete your requests. Those providers process message content under their own privacy policies.

Diagnostics

Production builds use privacy-sanitized Sentry diagnostics to record crashes and failures of the host, IPC, persistence, updater, provider, and renderer layers. Prompts, responses, tool payloads, credentials, and private file contents are excluded from diagnostics entirely.

Website and support communications

This website does not intentionally use analytics, advertising trackers, or user accounts. Bug reports and feature requests are filed on GitHub, where whatever you post is processed by GitHub under its own terms—do not include secrets, credentials, or private code.

Retention, deletion, and choices

Desktop state and logs remain on your disk until you delete them. Removing the app, its application-data folder, and ~/.ousia clears everything Ousia wrote; deleting ~/.piclears Pi's own session history and configuration. Nothing is retained on an Ousia server because none exists for your conversations.

Children and international use

Ousia is a developer tool and is not directed to children under 13. The model providers you configure may process information in countries where they operate, subject to applicable law and their safeguards.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy when Ousia's features or legal obligations change. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Questions can be raised through the Support page.
